Case Study:
Analyzing Marketing Strategy

I completed the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate to develop my data analytics skills further. It is a program focused on data cleaning, data visualization, project management, and interpreting data analytics findings.

At the end of the program, there is a case study project to demonstrate skills learned through the eight courses of the program. For my project, I chose to analyze Bellabeat’s smart device marketing strategy using available data from Fitbit users. I explored every step of the data analytics process and made data-driven marketing recommendations based on my findings.

Python Web Scraping and Data Analysis

For my final co-op term, I accepted a position with Canadian Tire Financial Services. I was given a brand new sport to oversee. I built the new web scraper, cleaned and analyzed the data, and created Tableau visuals. My manager trusted me to present my findings to an expert outside the organization as the final step in the process.

Despite having no experience with the Python language at the time, I completed the web scraper project before the term ended. I then had the chance to dive into the data manipulation and analysis process. My term at CTFS provided me with a valuable opportunity to not only learn and apply Python in a real-world scenario but also to showcase my problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and collaboration skills in a professional setting.

Strategic Projections and Logistics Management

Through my experience as a Purchasing and Logistics Agent, I calculated sales projections and organized import and export shipments to maintain critical stock levels in warehouses across Asia, Europe, the USA, and Canada. Analysing the sales data, and making accurate predictions was fundamental to my job. Shipments from overseas could take months to arrive, so any miscalculation could have negative impacts for many months following.
